Snowkit poked her head out of the Nursery, eyes zeroing in on a small vole at the top of the fresh-kill pile. After checking to see that no one was looking, she raced over, scrabbling right to the top to grip the tiny body between her teeth. As she pulled it off, the pile started to tip toward her. "Uh-oh.... MRRRRROWWWW!" she jumped back as the contents of the pile rolled across the camp, vole still clamped in her jaws. She stared, dumbfounded for a minute, then slowly started to back away toward the Nursery. "Oops."

"Yep... that's her." Snowkit mewed, and then hastily ran to hide in the Nursery. Tigerstripe had been in a bad mood lately, and the fresh-kill pile's scattering would not make it any better.
